Pilot actions for effective DIGITAL Dissemination and Exploitation strategies
One of the main challenges in the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) is integrating Dissemination and Exploitation (D&E) strategies across the diverse aspects of the programme, while considering Specific Objectives (SOs), project areas, and different programme implementation. There are no firmly established “tried-and-true” guidelines to harmonise how D&E efforts are carried out across DIGITAL, while remaining aligned with the overarching DIGITAL goals.
In conjunction with designing a Dissemination and Exploitation activity framework, DEDEP.eu will implement pilot actions for D&E actions. This means hearing from DIGITAL project teams, Project Officers, and policy makers to gain their perspective on what really works to maximise DIGITAL projects’ impacts and the adoption of their results.
As DEDEP.eu's second objective, the pilot actions will therefore also contribute to the first objective of the D&E Framework Design, as part of an iterative process of fine-tuning and validating an overall D&E action plan. The 10+ DEDEP.eu pilot actions will engage 1000+ DIGITAL community members, and receive feedback from D&E experts who form the Permanent Strategy Board.
The DEDEP.eu pilot actions
As part of the pilot actions, the DEDEP.eu consortium will implement a proven D&E methodology based on past experience. Notably, this multi-phase methodology has supported the communication, dissemination, and exploitation efforts within initiatives supporting projects funded the Research and Innovation Programme of the European Union. This approach includes:
- Assessing stakeholder needs to tailor pilot actions to their requirements.
- Engaging stakeholders early on to solicit their active input in the design and implementation of pilot actions.
- Developing a set of pilot actions that reflect the diversity of DIGITAL projects, ensuring that a wide range of topics and SOs are represented.
- Carrying out the pilot actions through a combination of workshops, webinars, and online platforms to provide accessible, scalable, and flexible support to D&E efforts.
- Ensuring continuous improvement by collating participant survey feedback, interviews, or interactive sessions to assess areas for refinement in the D&E actions.
Ultimately, the development of the pilot actions will deliver sustainable DEDEP.eu Dissemination and Exploitation services, that can be reused by DIGITAL projects needing this support.
