The challenge

Initially companies were unaware of the funding, training and testing facilities that are opening up not just in Sweden through ShiftLabs. but across the EDIH network. There was also initial hesitancy to use these resources due to perceived complexity, uncertainty about the process, or limited immediate relevance.
The solution
ShiftLabs boast a number of success stories involving Swedish SMEs and new digital technologies. In one case, a local company that manufactured metal parts for heavy trucks asked for help making its production system more flexible. Shiftlabs created a 3D model of the factory so that it could quickly re-arrange production on the shop floor in response to rapidly changing needs. By upskilling the engineers, the company is now entirely independent.
