Mighty is a European Digital Innovation Hub that supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing industry and the public sector (GovTech) in advancing their digital transformation, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and high-performance computing.
The Impact
Mighty drives the digital transformation of businesses and the public sector in North Middle Sweden, with a focus on AI and Cybersecurity. From broad training and upskilling programmes to in-depth support for adopting AI and new ways of working, it works hand in hand with EDIHs, TEFs, EEN and AI Factories, bringing RISE’s research expertise to the region.
The challenge
Many small and medium-sized enterprises and public-sector organisations lack the knowledge and tools to understand how AI can be applied in their operations.
This can slow their digital transformation and cause them to miss opportunities for greater efficiency and innovation.
The solution
Through Dalarna Science Park, MIGHTY has delivered the AI Upskilling programme across Gävleborg and Dalarna over a two-year period. The targeted programme gives participants practical knowledge, inspiration and hands-on support to explore how AI can be applied in their organisations, delivered across three sessions.

MIGHTY shows how a regional hub can make advanced digital expertise accessible well beyond Europe’s major technology centres. By combining the local knowledge of its partners with the research strength of RISE and four universities, it brings AI, cybersecurity and high-performance computing within reach of businesses and public bodies across five Swedish regions, including sparsely populated areas.
Its collaboration with other Swedish and European initiatives, such as EDIHs, TEFs, EEN and AI Factories, links the region to a wider innovation ecosystem. This offers a replicable model for other regions seeking to turn digital strategy into practical support.
